Description: The hotel features 280 bedrooms with amenities including en suite facilities, satellite TV and refreshment making facilities as standard. Rooms are modern in style and newly refurbished to a very high standard. The carvery restaurant is decorated in an art deco style. As well as the traditional english roast, it also has an A La Carte menu. In addition the hotel has the newly refurbished bar/lounge area on the second floor which provides a modern and relaxing atmosphere to enjoy a drink or light snack. Built in 1963, the hotel is modern in design and set across 11 floors. Limited parking is available alongside the hotel, but is chargeable. The lobby area is of a medium size and is light & welcoming with a seating area for guests waiting. The upper stories of the building provide panoramic views of the city centre and suburbs, a good hotel for those wishing to be in the centre of Birmingham. Very good central location. Check in staff did not understand about pre-paid voucher. Quality of maintenance - rusty windows that do not close and very poor secondary double glazing meant the room was very noisy. In a city centre the effort must be made to achieve quiet for a good night's sleep. Not recommended. [read more]
