La Barranca is located within the protected scenery of the Cuenca Alta de Manzanares nature park, part of the Guadarrama mountain chain. It lies at the foot of La Maliciosa mountain, just 15 minutes away from the nearest ski runs at Puerto de Navacerrada and Valdeski. After a day surrounded by nature, return to the hotel to relax in its attractive gardens. You can then enjoy a hearty meal of traditional local cuisine in either of the 2 on-site restaurants, or out on the scenic terrace. La Barranca Hotel is located on the Eastern side of the Regional Park of Cuenca Alta del Manzanares. La ubicación es extraordinaria, pero las instalaciones se han quedado ancladas en el año de su inauguración (1940), es como un viaje en el tiempo: televisión con antenas (no es broma sólo se sintonizan dos emisoras y mal), suelo de moqueta, paredes con papel pintado y los sanitarios del cuarto de baño merecen un capítulo a parte. Por supuesto cuestiones como conexión a internet aún no han sido descubiertas por los propietarios del hotel. El precio del menú es desorbitado, 24 euros por persona, ofreciendo únicamente dos primeros platos y dos segundos como oferta, siendo la carta bastante básica y mediocre. Precioso lugar cerca de Madrid para pasar unos días de tranquilidad en la montaña. Servicio muy atento; la comida del restaurante buena y abundante. Cogimos el paquete "Fin de Semana" y el domingo nos dejaron la habitación hasta las 14:00.... la excursión a la "Fuente de la Campanilla" ... en fin, todo buenos recuerdos que haran que repitamos en breve. Situacion perfecta en un lugar estupendo. El hotel está viejo pero limpio. Desayunar en la terraza dela habitación es un lujo, disfrutando de las maravillosas vistas. Es un hotel ideal para descansar y para disfrutar de la naturaleza. Buen trato de todo el personal. Volveremos sin duda. [read more]
