On average the rooms are small and in good condition, decorated in pale pastel colours with contrasting soft furnishings. The bathrooms are also in fair condition. Some rooms have lovely views over Hyde Park through large windows, though they are a little noisier because of the street below. There is a small coffee shop to the left of the main lobby serving light snacks and meals with a mediterranean influence. The main part of the building dates from the last century, but the reception area has been extended forward towards the road and somewhat resembles a shop front. The architecture is typical of the surrounding buildings. The lobby is small and modern in style, pleasantly but simply decorated in blues and creams and offering a small seating area to the right. This is a simple, comfortable hotel in easy reach of all of London's major attractions within very easy walking distance of both Queensway and Bayswater underground stations. (03/05 LP)
